Shimla: Chief Minister Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal was given a warm welcome in Hamirpur on his first visit after becoming CM. He was driven there in an open jeep on Friday late evening where he addressed a large public gathering at Gandhi Chowk, Hamipur, in which he repeated his promises of monkey menace and said that every monkey menace affected district would be equipped with sterilization hospital facilities to achieve the objective of checking growth in their population as also to honour the religious sanctity of the animal.
He showed great concern towards the welfare of women and announced free travelling in HRTC buses for ladies within Himachal Pradesh on Raksha Bandhan and Bhaiya Dhuj day. He also said that women empowerment is the need of the hour to give momentum to overall development of the society. Thus, decision of 50% reservation for women in coming Panchayati Raj Institutions elections is a step towards the progress of the State at a grass root level units of democracy, he said.
He also thanked the people for voting and reaffirming faith in BJP.
