Shimla: On the last day of campaign, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Poll Duty is to address two election rally’s in Himachal.
A congress spokesman disclosed that the Prime Minister is scheduled to address a election gathering at Bilaspur on Monday morning and at Palampur in the afternoon.
The congress campaign in Himachal has remained lack luster for the party was mainly focused on Gujarat.
With the cold weather playing spoilsport party president Sonia Gandhi has held only two rally’s so far. Her schedule of hold two other rally’s earlier had to be cancelled because of bad weather conditions.
Newly appointed general secretary Rahul Gandhi followed his mother and a few hours after Sonia Gandhi addressed a rally in Shimla on Saturday, the younger Gandhi held road shows in Kullu and Mandi districts today.
On the other hand BJP has fired from all guns, with party president Rajnath Singh and senior leader LK Advani extensively touring the state, cold conditions notwithstanding.
For the congress chief minister Virbhadra Singh has remained the star campaigner and almost all party candidates have been wanting him to hold election rally’s in their constituencies.
Campaigning ends on Monday with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh concluding the congress campaign at Palampur and LK Advani summing up the BJP poll plank in the state capital by holding a rally at Chaura Maidan.
