Himachal Governor V.S.Kokje visited the concluding function of the Navodaya Vidhayala Samiti Cultural meet-2007 at Pandoh in Mandi district yesterday evening. He was greeted by Mukesh Saxena, Deputy Commissioner Navodaya Vidhayala Samiti Regional Office, Chandigarh.
While speaking in the function he appreciated the work of Navodaya Vidhayala Samiti in providing value education to the rural areas of the State and said that there is a dire need to open more such schools in Himachal Pradesh. Moreover, education gives a confidence to the student and keeps away the ignorance and orthodoxy in the society, he added.
He further said that Navodaya Vidhayalas were opened throughout the country to bring uniformity in thoughts, quality education and to provide an opportunity to the outstanding students to excel in their studies.
Raised in Shimla and originally from Mandi district, Disha wears many caps which includes being part of a lead team of a fast growing IT company based out of Chandigarh. Earlier Disha was associated with My Himachal and visits Shimla regularly.
