Shimla: Besides the burning issues of unemployment, corruption and development, actress turned politician Hema Malini held that the congress government did not having make proper efforts to conserve, popularize and promote Himachali folk music and dance.
Speaking at a rally in Totu suburb on Friday, the parliamentarian said “as an actress I have visited the state on many occasions and ‘am familiar with the rich folk music and dance heritage that is prevalent here.”
Hema Malini, on poll duty added, “Unfortunately the Congress government over the last five years has done nothing to popularize and promote it. If a BJP government is voted to power, out party will ensure that Himachali music and dance is given its due,” she said.
Talking about the problems facing the people, the actress said that unemployment was the biggest issue in the state and the congress government had stopped implementing schemes which were started by the NDA government.
Since proper emphasis has not been given to industrialization, it has forced people to go out of the state seeking employment, said Hema Malini.
