Three File Papers On First Day Of Nominations For Assembly Elections

Shimla: With nominations for the 65 assembly seats opening up today, three independents filed their papers today.

The three candidates who filed their papers were Devender Singh from Kumarsain, Amin Chand from Mewa and Kapur Chand from Palampur, Manisha Nanda, chief electoral official disclosed.

While BJP has allotted the Kumarsain seat to old timer Bhagat Ram Chauhan, the congress candidate from the seat is likely to be none other than the power minister Vidya Stokes who represents the assembly segment.

The BJP is yet to reveal its cards whether former chief ministers Shanta Kumar and Prem Kumar Dhumal would be contesting the elections or not and so far have not declared there candidate for the Palampur seat.

With BJP declaring Vipin Parmar as the candidate for the Sulah seat, Shanta Kumar, in all likelihood would be fielded from Palampur should the party decide to have him enter the fray.
