NAHAN:Â Addressing an awareness camp organized to mark the National Voluntary Blood donation Day at ITI Complex here Chief Medical Officer Sirmour Dr A. K. Gupta disclosed that in the field of voluntary blood donation Sirmour district was having second position in the state.
He said that during the curent year 678 people have donated blood in the 11 blood donation camps organized by the District blood Bank in the different parts of the district. At present the blood donation percentage was 76 percent which would be raised to 100 percent with the bigger participation of students and youths by perusing them with the organization of awareness camps in the different parts of the district.
On this occasion Dr Sanjay Sharma, incharge District Blood Bank disclosed that at present 16 Red Ribbon were working in the different education and other institutions to create awareness about the blood donation in the district. He called upon youth to donate blood three to four time a year to save the lives of those in need.
On this occasion Amil Aggarwal who donated blood 84 times and Sanjiv Kashyap, Dharamvir Verma and Ram Nath Saini who donated blood for more than 22 times were honoured. After the function an awareness rally was also organized.
