Nomination papers of 4 covering candidates rejected, 14 left in the fray
Shimla: The election department today rejected the nomination papers of four covering candidates to the three tribal seats of Kinnaur, Lahaul-Spiti and Bharmour, where as papers of the 14 other candidates in the fray were held valid, an election department spokesman stated.
Nomination papers of Chaman Lal (BJP), Ram Prasad (BSP) for Bharmour assembly segment and Raghubir Singh (INC) and Prem Lal (BSP) for the Lahaul-Spiti seat ware rejected on scrutiny, he said.
After scrutiny the nomination papers of Thakur Singh (INC), Tulsi Ram (BJP), Balbir Singh (BSP), Chandu Lal, Daya Ram and Munish Kumar as independents from Bharmour; Jagat Singh Negi (INC), Tejwant Singh (BJP), Susheel Sagar (BSP) and Bhagat Singh as a Lok Jan Shakti candidate from Kinnaur; Phunchog Rai (INC), Bir Singh (BSP), Dr. Ram Lal Markanda (BJP) and Shyam Chand as an independent from Lahaul& Spiti assembly segment were found valid, he added.
