Shimla: Considering it an infringement on the working of the government, the congress party has decided to move the Election Commission about BJP leaders holding out threats and pressurizing government officials regarding their functioning.
Kuldeep Rathore state congress spokesman on Saturday said that the Congress will complain to the Election Commission regarding the threats and pressure being exerted by BJP leaders on officials.
He said “the BJP was living in a fool’s paradise if they thinking of capturing power in Himachal.â€
Talking about election code of conduct violations being made by BJP, Rathore said the party would bring to the notice of the election commission the fact that a media centre had been set up by the BJP in the official residence of its MLA, Harinarain Saini in Metropole. “Since the accommodation has been given to him by the HP Vidhan Sabha its use as a media centre is certainly wrong and objectionable, “he said.
Regarding the Election Commission’s directive that the money for the use of chopper be charged from Virbhadra Singh and his ministers, Rathore said the party would bare the expenses.
Rathore said that the Congress had taken the lead by announcing its candidates for the three tribal seats and the party was fully geared for the polls. “On the other hand the BJP is a divided house with practically every senior leader being in the race for chief minister ship,†he said.
He said that there had been a virtual revolt in Lahaul Spiti BJP as the party had given preference to a candidate who had earlier fought on HVC ticket. He added that seeing all this there was no question of the BJP coming to power in Himachal.
