Two killed, 13 injured in road accident in Himachal

Shimla: Two people, including a woman, were killed and 11 others injured, three of them seriously when the jeep in which they were traveling veered off the road and fell into a gorge in the interiors of Shimla district, today, a police spokesman said.

In all there were 13 people in the vehicle when it went off the road near Dalli, about 135 Km from the state capital in Rohru at about 11 a.m. The two people killed, died on the spot and the injured are receiving treatment at the community health centre, Rohru. Three of the seriously injured have been referred to the Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital (IGMC) here.

One of the dead has been identified as Surajmali, 52, the sources said. The identity of the other person killed had not been yet established while the three seriously injured were identified as Trilok Singh, 42 (Driver), Chander Kanta 31 and Meera, 40.

The cause of the accident could not be immediately established, a case had been registered and the matter was being investigate, said the police spokesperson.
