Shimla: Dumping a writ petition, the Himachal Pradesh High Court today ordered a total ban on felling of green trees across the state.
Justice Rajeev Sharma in his order mentioned that as the matter relating to green felling was pending before the Supreme Court and till the apex court did not frame some guidelines about it, the state government should ensure that felling of green trees was brought to a halt.
Petitioner Ram Lal had sought the courts intervention to get the restriction on green felling around Kasauli and Solan area lifted.
