SOLAN: The outbreak of gastroenteritis in Giyana village of Arki sub division has gripped over half dozen people. The four people down with gastro have been admitted in Civil Hospital, Arki. However Nirmala Devi (30) and Vimla Devi (35) have admitted in IGMC, Shimla.
Ms. Meera Bhatti the local panchayat Pradhan has too fell victim to the disease. She was discharged only last evening from hospital where she was admitted earlier. The disease was reportedly surfaced on Friday.
Confirming the development, Mr. M.C. Sasani the BMO, Arki said that yesterday the 45 people were given precautionary medical treatment. The situation was under control and we were monitoring the developments carefully, he asserted. The supply of contaminated water was seemed to be reason behind the disease, he pointed out.
The concerned SDO, IPH has expressed ignorance about supply of contamination water. He assured to ask his staff to verify the fact.
