Heavy rain is playing havoc in the Hamirpur district and has claimed four lives so for. Three more persons lost their lives due to heavy rains and bad weather in Hamirpur district during last twenty-four hours. In a latest incident, Mansa Ram and his wife Kashmeero Devi lost their lives and three others of the family were injured when a big pack of bamboos fell on their house. While the couple died at the spot, the rest of three including a child were extricated from under the debris by the local people.
With this four persons have lost their lives in the district today due to heavy rains and snap floods.
The injured persons have been named as Pyer Chand his wife Rekha Devi and two months old daughter, Reena.
An official spokesman told reporters that the deceased had gone to meet Pyer Chand and Rekha Devi to bring them to their house. However, the destiny played a joke with them and they lost their lives. Both bodies have been brought to Hamirpur hospital for post mortem examinations.
Tehsildar Bhoranj visited the spot and gave a cash relief of ten thousand each to the bereaved families.
In second incident, one more persons lost his life due to heavy rains in the Hamirpur district today. The latest casualty is of Bidhi Chand of Dughli village who was washed away in the snap floods of a nullah in between Lambloo and Dughli village of the district.
An official spokesman said here this evening that the body of Bidhi Chand was traced after four hours and had been brought to Hamirpur for post mortem examinations.
