‘CM VIR BHADRA SINGH SHOULD QUIT’- DEMANDS SHANTA KUMAR

shanta.jpgNAHAN: At a district level rally organized by the BJP here today Mr. Shanta Kumar, former Union Minister and All India Vice President of BJP while addressing a public meeting in the Bara Chowk alleged that Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh was facing serious charges of corruption and he should immediately quit from the post of Chief Minister of the state.

He alleged that in the 60 years history of independent India Mr Vir Bhadra Singh was the first Chief Minister who was facing such serious corruption charges which had vital evidence. No person having even little morality would have remained on the chair after such allegations, he alleged. He charged that Mr. Vir Bhadra Singh had brought shame to the Dev Bhoomi by saying that the CD in which his and his wife’s conversation was taped was 16 years old. Mr. Shanta Kumar questioned ‘was Chief Minister having license of corruption 16 years back?’

Senior BJP leader held responsible Union government for steep price rise in the country and alleged that Congress leaders were hand in glove with the big industrialists and multinational companies. He demanded to release additional sugar in the market for immediate control of the rising price of sugar and put a ban on the entry of multi national companies in the grain trading to keep the prices under control. He alleged that in connivance of Union government multi national companies were holding and exporting the grains from the country, creating false vacuum and shortage in the market to get more profit. He said that in this environment living for a common man had become very difficult for which ‘corrupt Congress’ was fully responsible.

He claimed that BJP win in the Hamir Pur and other by elections was a clear indication that people of Himachal Pradesh were eager for a change in the state and were waiting for a suitable occasion to oust the Congress. He elaborated the achievements of NDA regime in the country.

On this occasion former Ministers Shyama Sharma, Kishan Kapoor, Mehander Sofat and Hari Narayan Saini, MLA Sukh Ram Choudhri and district BJP President Mr. Baldev Bhandari were among the main leaders who addressed the rally.

Earlier a rally was taken out by the BJP workers from the Circuit House to Bara Chowk. BJP workers throng from different parts of the district displayed banners and shouted slogans against the state government.
