Mr. Jai Ram Thakur, state President of BJP today addressed a press conference at PWD Rest House at Rajgarh about 110 K.M. from here and claimed that the bag of cash which went missing from the office of Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh was containing rupees 1.15 crores. He charged that this money was brought to spent in the Hamirpur parliamentary by election to ensure the victory of Congress candidate.
Mr. Thakur said that theft of cash bag also helped smooth sailing of BJP in the Hamirpur constituency. He also claimed that defeat of Congress in Hamirpur was being seen as a ‘trend setter’ for the forth coming assembly elections in the state. He claimed that development was on a halt in the state for the past four years and state government was completely plunged in the pool of corruption and people were totally frustrated with the working of present government.
He announced that on June 29th, office bearers of state BJP would meet governor of Himachal Pradesh with fresh charge sheet against the state government and demand dismissal of the government on the charges of non performance and corruption.
He stated that BJP in its previous charge sheet submitted to the governor of Himachal Pradesh had demanded CBI inquiry but government functionaries including ministers mentioned in the charge sheet had served legal notices on the BJP officer bearers and had asked to submit the proof in support of the allegations. He maintained that proofs would be handed over to the CBI only if an inquiry was ordered. He added that CD released by Congress MLA Mr. Mankotia confirms the charges of corruption leveled by the BJP in the charge sheet.
Mr. Thakur made it clear that mistakes of previous assembly elections would not be repeated again this time, win ability would be the first criterion for the party ticket. He repeated several allegations against the CM once again. He was at pain in answering to a question admitting that in present times politicians do not enjoy gentleman image in the society but it was also fact that all politicians does not have bad rapport in the society.
Mr. Thakur along with local leaders also addressed a meeting of party workers and asked them to prepare for next assembly election.
