Himachal gets additional Rs. 54.09 crore from Central Government for water schemes

kaul.jpgCentral Government has sanctioned additional Rs. 54.09 crore under Rajiv Gandhi National Drinking Water Mission centrally sponsored Accelerated Rural Water Supply programme for the Government of Himachal Pradesh for the year 2006-07.

The sanction was conveyed to Himachal Pradesh Irrigation and Public Health Minister Thakur Kaul Singh who called on Union Rural Development Minister. Dr. Raghuvansh Prasad Singh at New Delhi today.

Thakur said that Union Minister Dr. Raghuvansh Prasad Singh has also consented his request to convene the meeting of Parliamentary Consultative Committee on Rural Development in Shimla and told that the meeting of Parliamentary Consultative Committee on Rural Development would be held at Shimla during first and second June 2007.

Kaul Singh said that Ministry of Rural Development has released first and second installment of Rs. 96.63 crore under Accelerated Rural Water Supply Programme for Himachal Pradesh during current financial year and said that State Government has sent the utilization certificate of Rs. 90 crore on 1st February, 2007. He said that State has also sent the utilization certificate regarding State expenditure of Rs. 122.85 crore on this sector during current financial year.
