Himachal govt. to build double laned motorable bridge at Manali

cm21.jpgA new double laned motorable bridge would be constructed at a cost of Rs. 6.5 crore to connect Manali town with Left Bank. This was stated by Virbhadra Singh, Chief Minister in his public address at Aleo Bridge, on the left bank of Manali. He dedicated the new double laned motorable bridge over Aleo Khad completed at a cost of Rs. 3.75 crore to the people of 14 Gram panchayats of the area. He said that requisite funds had been sanctioned and the construction work was likely to start soon. He added that during the intervening period of completion of codal formalities etc. another bariley bridge would be constructed by the side of the old bridge within a couple of months to facilitate smooth movement of the vehicles in the prominent tourist destination town of Manali. He directed the authorities to accord top priority to the construction of new bridge while immediately start the construction work of the other bariley bridge for smooth movement of vehicular traffic.

Chief Minister said that his Government had decided to construct a ‘Dev Sadan’ in Kullu to facilitate the devotees accompanying their presiding deities to participate in the famous Dussehra Festival every year and make basic amenities available to them during the week long traditional festival. He said that construction work would be started on war footing and efforts made to complete the same before the of the coming Dussehra Festival.

Chief Minister assured of more financial help from the Chief Minister Relief Fund to the fire victim families of Jana village in Manali Sub-Division of Kullu district as the immediate relief as per the Relief Manual had already been disbursed to them by the State Government. He said that the Welfare of the affected families would be ensured and all-out efforts made to rehabitate them suitably.
