A Mahindra Bolero- Camper H.P-10- 2823 rolled down between Umladwar and Ghanasidhar, Sub-Tehsil Tikkar in Shimla District last evening. About nine are reported to have been killed on-the -spot and five persons injured in the mishap.
Officers of the District Administration alongwith medical team and Police Jawans rushed to the spot to supervise the relief and rescue operations. A relief of Rs. 10,000 each was provided to next of kin of the deceased and Rs 1,000 each to those who were injured.
The deceased have been identified as Bhag Singh, R/O Village Hanstar, P.O. Samra, Sub-Tehsil Tikkar, Shri Vijay Kumar, R/O Khangta , P.O, Sub-Tehsil Takkar, Smt. Vidya Devi, R/O Village Khangta, P.O & Sub- Tehsil Tikkar, Smt. Meena Devi, R/O Village Mohali, P.O Denaoli, Sub- Tehsil Nankhari, Smt. Kanta, R/O Village Deyani, P.O. Devgarh, Tehsil Kotkhai, Shri Sandeep Mehta,R/O Village & P.O. Denaoli, Sub-Tehsil Nankhari, Kr. Boby R/O Village Spoil, P.O. Ratanari, Tehsil Kotkhai,Smt. Sandhira Devi, R/O village Mohali, P.O. Denaoli, Sub-Tehsil Nankhari. One deceased person could not be identified. All the injured persons were admitted in Civil Hospital Rohru, whereas Kr. Renu R/O Village Khangta, P.O. and Sub-Tehsil, Tikkar has been referred to IGMC Shimla.
