Himachal Kalyan Sabha celebrates annual function

New Delhi: Shri Gangu Ram Musafir, Speaker, Vidhan Sabha said that more than Rs. 20,000 crore capital investment was attracted in industrial sector during last about four years which was a record in itself. He was speaking in the annual function of Himachal Kalyan Sabha at New Delhi last evening.

Shri Musafir said that due to the efforts of the State Government it became possible to attract such a huge investment in industrial sector and almost all major industrial houses of the country have invested in the State.

Shri Musafir said that about 20,000 MW hydel potential had been identified in the State which would be exploited during the coming ten years. He said that with the exploitation of hydel potential Himachal Pradesh would be capable to fulfill the electricity needs of all Northern States and the on going industrialization and various hydel projects would yield revenue to the State.

Shri Sat Mahajan, Revenue Minister said that Himachal Pradesh had emerged as role model of development due to the sincere efforts of the State Government and hard working people of the State who were complimenting the efforts of the Government. He further said that the people of Himachal Pradesh had not only contributed in construction of developmental projects like Bhakra and Pong Dams but also sacrificed their lands in order to facilitate the completion of those projects. He said that State Government was committed to maintain cordial relations with the neighbouring States and was also ready to reach on honourable settlement out of court in the interests of people of the State.

Shri Dhani Ram Shandil, MP said that he would take up the matter of including Pahari language into the 8th schedule of the Constitution during the ensuing Parliament Session besides the issues of Himachal Regiment, expansion of railway lines, constitution of Special Hill Council etc.

Shri D.D. Dogra, National Chairman, Himahal Kalyan Sabha detailed out the activities of the Sabha.

Shri Musafir and Shri Mahajan announced Rs. 26,000 and Rs. 25,000 respectively from their discretionary fund for the promotion of activities of the Sabha on the occasion.

A colourful cultural programme was also presented on the occasion.
