New Delhi, July 2 (IANS) It was a hot, sunny Tuesday in the national capital and the maximum temperature settled a notch above average at 37.6 degrees Celsius. The Met office has forecast light rains Wednesday.
“The skies will be partly cloudy tomorrow (Wednesday) and parts of the city may get light rains and thunderstorm,” said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The maximum and minimum temperatures will hover around 37 and 28 degrees Celsius respectively.
Tuesday’s minimum temperature was a notch above the average at 29 degrees Celsius.
Monday’s maximum temperature was 39.2 degrees Celsius, three notches above the season’s average, while the minimum settled at 27.8 degrees Celsius, average for this time of the year.
The monsoon arrived in Delhi a fortnight ahead of schedule June 16, but the city has not received much rainfall since then.
