Mumbai, June 10 (IANS) A benchmark index of Indian equities markets was trading flat at 0.23 percent during the pre-noon trade Monday.
The upward movement was facilitated by good buying trends in IT, capital goods and auto stocks, while consumer durables, healthcare and banking slipped.
The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 19,530.35 points, was trading at 19,474.83 points in the pre-noon session, up 45.60 points or 0.23 percent from last Friday’s close at 19,429.23 points.
The sensex touched a high of 19,585.75 points and a low of 19,419.07 points in pre-noon trade.
The S&P BSE IT index increased by 58.51 points, followed by capital goods, which inched up 49.09 points, while the auto index moved up by 28.23 points. The consumer durables index slipped 95.80 points, healthcare by 89.24 points and bankex by 65.97 points.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading flat at 0.46 percent or 26.90 points up at 5,907.90 points.
