New Delhi, May 25 (IANS) Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh is all set with plans for his second production – a biopic titled “Pocket Dynamo”.
It will be produced under his banner Mumbai Film Company (MFC).
The film is based on the life of a wrestler Khashaba Jadhav, who won independent India’s first Olympic medal in 1952.
Confirming the news through an official statement, Riteish said: “We have acquired the rights for the biopic based on Khashaba Jadhav’s life. I’m glad that Ranjit Jadhav deemed us worthy of giving his father’s story to be essayed on screen.”
“He has quite a noteworthy journey and earned our country it’s first international medal but in time, his name and story was something that was lost. He is a hero who deserves to be remembered and honoured. We will work hard to do justice to the portrayal of his achievements,” added Riteish.
The script for the film, to be made and released in Marathi and Hindi, is currently being worked upon.
The project will be co-produced by Line.exe productions.
Riteish’s debut production was the Marathi film “Balak Palak”, which won him praises galore.
