New Delhi, April 23 (IANS) In order to save dolphins from captivity in India, several people Tuesday pledged to never visit any facility which holds dolphins and other cetaceans in captivity.
Animal protection group Federation of Indian Animal Protection Organisations (FIAPO) has been running a campaign to save dolphins from captivity.
“We have launched a national pledge to gather support to prevent dolphins being kept in captivity. People can join the pledge online to show their support,” said a FIAPO spokesperson.
“This solidarity is crucial in ensuring that the environment ministry enacts a stringent prohibition on the keeping of any cetaceans in captivity in India,” she said.
