Shimla: To get to the bottom of the fake certificate case, the vigilance officials intend to jointly question the former minister Singhi Ram and BR Rahi, the former chairman of HP School Education Board who has denied any role in the matter.
During interrogation Singhi Ram had told the investigating team that the plus 2 certificate which his daughter Umpa Kashyap had allegedly produced for securing admission into Lady Shri Ram College in Delhi had been given to him by Rahi. He is also reported to have told the investigation team that Rahi had taken back the certificate and had not returned it.
Vigilance department is likely to seal the record for the year 2005 to ascertain whether a fake certificate racket was being operated by some board employees, sources revealed.
