April edition of TIME magazine has an excellent article about global warming. Himachal contributes a lot to this without adequate planned mining as well as bigger dams. Few excerpts:

Tino glacier that has receded by 2 km from the Bhaga river in the Lahaul valley.
The glaciers have been receding in the tribal Lahaul valley for the last 7 years. And if this trend continues, the receding glaciers may spell doom for state’s hydro-power generation and crops, fear local mountaineers and farmers here. More..
