Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh: While taking a serious note of the involvement of Himachal Pradesh chief minister, Vir Bhadra Singh, his wife and others in a controversial CD that was released by senior Congress leader, major Vijay Singh Mankotia, the All India Vice President of BJP, Shanta Kumar today urged the Congress high command to take sack Vir Bhadra Singh from post of Himachal Chief minister and also take action against him accomplices.
He also urged the Speaker of Lok sabha to take similar action against Pratibha Singh; the MP from Mandi for her involvement in the controversial CD on analogy of other MP’s who were dismissed from Lok sabha in the cash for query scam issue.
Earlier, the senior Congress leader from Kangra, Major Vijay Singh Mankotia had challenged the right of the Chief Minister to talk about corruption and seek votes for Hamirpur Lok Sabha bypoll, maintaining that corruption was rampant in his Government and Congress had never won an election under his leadership. He had also released an audio tape containing conversation of some Congress leaders regarding money transactions.
Talking to reporters here today, he said that he heard the CD and found that the voice of the chief minister was genuine and as such he ( Singh) should resign his post and hand over the reigns of state to some another man. He said that the corruption was rampant all over India and was harming the Indian polity badly. Time has come when all should join hands together to wage another battle on analogy of freedom against the corruption. He said that he would lead this fight in the state by remaining within the framework of the BJP.
The former union minister was pained to say that while poor was becoming poorer; the politicians were thriving through corrupt means. Such persons had no right to remain in political life and must be exposed.
The BJP leader said that the CD issue would become a major issue in the ongoing bye election to Hamirpur Lok sabha seat and it would prove to be a nail in the coffin of the Congress party.
He charged the UPA government for shielding the big businessmen and industrialists. He said that the UPA government was in league with the Sugarcane lobby and was helping them financially at cost of poor. There was record production of sugar this year. However, it was shocking to say that its prices were coming down. It was due to a nexus between the UPA leadership and the Sugar kings. He said that the production of Sugar in India was of 300 lakh metric tones as against India’s annual demand of 190 lakh metric tones. As such, there were 110 metric tones of surplus sugar in India but its prices were soaring day by day. It was due to wrong policies of the Congress led UPA government.
