Mr Ashwani Kumar, Director General of Himachal Police made it clear that his first priority is the moderanization of Himachal Police . First phase of this programme has been initiated with the start of new year by placing 11 police stations of the state on line.
Mr. Ashwani Kumar, DGP said that in the second stage of this programme 22 more police stations would be pleased on line and in the third stage all the police stations of the state would be fully computerized and placed on line.
He said that modernization process of the policing system will take some longer time as whole system require change which include change in police rule of 1834 also.
DGP said Himachal is a peace loving state, in such a state Police personal by winning the confidence of common man can easily check the crime and solve difficult cases also.
He added that his department had decided to introduce urban policing scheme on New Delhi Pattern in the state. The scheme is already operational at Baddi, Barotiwala and Nala Garh & now Paonta Sahib has been chosen for this scheme. http://www.hppolice.nic.in/
