Himachal Chief Minister said that his Government had been awarded for outstanding achievements in education and efforts were afoot to fill the gap in the areas where people still needed higher educational institutions so that students could avail of these facilities nearer to their homes. He said that State had 60 collages in the Government sector out of which 14 were opened recently to facilitate the students with higher education.
Chief Minister said that efforts were afoot to promote horticulture in a big way and Himachal Pradesh a ‘Fruit Bowl of India’ where every species of the fruit was grown. He said that horticulture was contributing significantly towards the GDP of the State. He said that Rs. 80 crore Horticulture Technology Mission was under implementation in the State which was benefiting growers. He further said that progressive farmers had adopted the off-season vegetable cultivation which had revolutionized the farm economy.
Chief Minister said that developmental blocks in association with experts would be required to create awareness and provide farmers technical advice for cultivation of cash crops, diversification of traditional crops, floriculture, herbiculture in a big way to provide farmers self-employment avenues near to their home. He said that with the prosperity of the farmers the entire State would become prosperous. He said that farming sector was the most viable avocation which which could sea change the economy and life of the farmers.
Virbhadra Singh said that the State was poised to emerge a role model in all sectors to rest of the States in the country as new milestones were being added to the development, welfare and educational sectors in the State. He said that all remaining gram panchayats of the State would be connected with motorable road by coming financial year besides spending Rs. 2,000 crore on widening improvement and construction of new roads.
Chief Minister said that new vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau of the State had been bestowed the responsibility to investigate all corruption cases impartially as the people of the State had voted his Government to power to eradicate corruption from the society and bring all such people to the book and provide people a corruption free, transparent, efficient administration. He said that the corrupt no matter how so high is social, political status might, be would be dealt with as per law of the land while honour and respect of every citizen would be protected.
Earlier, Chief Minister also addressed a public meeting at Tharu helipad and announced upgradtion of Govt. High School Charidharan to Senior Secondary School and Govt. Primary School Magadhar and Panail to Middle Schools, three Mahila Mandal Bhawans to be constructed in the area and science with commerce to be introduced in GSSS Delath. He also assured sympathetic consideration of all the remaining demands presented before him by Shri Mohan Lal, Pradhan Gram Panchayat, Karangla.
CM dedicated the impressive Government Senior Secondary building constructed at a cost of Rs. 95 lakh and laying the foundation stone of the Science block to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 54 lakhs in the same school.
