Dharamshala: With the motto ‘Live Like Local’, a Chamba based travel start-up, NotOnMap, which is currently having more than 80 destinations in 8 states in India has made it to the world’s top ten at the third annual Booking Booster accelerator program organized by a well-known travel ecommerce company, Booking.com, to support the next wave of change-markers who are seeking a lasting, sustainable impact on the travel industry at large.

Informing this the Co- founder of  ‘NOT On Map’, Mr Manuj Sharma said “Booking.com had invited applications in November 2018 from small enterprises all over the world that are building technology-driven solutions to sustainable travel challenges. The selected top 10 social enterprise start-ups amongst the hundreds and thousands of applicants are now being invited to the accelerator program in May 2019 being held at Amsterdam.”

NotOnMap, with a vision to make a positive impact on the sustainable tourism industry, has successfully achieved one of the many milestones by being chosen as one of the very few start-ups to participate in the 3-week accelerator program hosted by Booking.com.

“The Chamba based start-up is a handcrafted social driven initiative that aims at generating alternative livelihood for the locals giving them their share of the travel economy.  It also aims at providing an authentic local experience to the travellers at the most unknown, unseen and offbeat destinations all over India, giving them an opportunity to peak into the culture and the traditions that are the backbone of such places and in turn leaving a lasting impact not only on the lives of the travellers but the locals too,’ said Manuj.

He further added that ‘NotOnMap’ is the Only company to be selected from India and among the only 4 chosen social initiative from Asia. The others selected in this competition are 2 each from Netherland & Australia and 1 from France, Columbia, Nepal, Indonesia, Malaysia & India each. Founder of NotOnMap, Kumar Anubhav along with Syed Sareem will be attending the program in Amsterdam starting from 23 April 2019. Co-Founder Manuj Sharma believes that this achievement will add not only a new color to NotOnMap but also be a big boost for sustainable livelihood programs started by NotOnMap.
