Shimla: Soul Portrait’s take on life with Zindagi, a video with soulful music, released on Youtube on 29th July, has gained much traction in a fortnight.
Zindagi, the pleasing melody’s lyrics touch upon the haunting loneliness of youth, the ups and downs of life and the parting pain of friendships. The music is rendered to a soothing tune.
The Shimla based band describes itself as ‘not being confined by any genre or language, our music captures different thoughts, varied emotions and distinctive sounds that soothe the ears.’
The band came into being in the autumn of 2012 with three members Hitesh (Drums), Bhavtosh (Bass) and Ashwani (Guitar, Back Vocals), who were soon joined by Anirudh (Lead Singer), Khushal (Guitar, Backing Vocals) and Karan (Keyboards, Vocals).
The video, shot in Shimla, has been directed by Deepika Tomar.
Soul Portrait holds promise of more melodies being released soon. The band has held a live show at Chamba’s Minjar fair in 2014 and played at various other platforms also.
