ICI Excellence Awards 2021 For Nand Lal Sharma CMD, SJVN And Devendra Sharma, Chairman HPSERC

Shimla: Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman, HP State Electricity Regulatory Commission Devendra Kumar Sharma were among 68 others conferred awards here today by the Indian Concrete Institute for their contribution towards infrastructure development of the country.

Shakti Sadan – SJVN Headquarters

Mr. Nand Lal Sharma was conferred the award for his contribution to building Shakti Sadan the SJVN state-of-the-art corporate headquarters building at Shimla. Shakti Sadan also bagged the Best Built Infrastructure Project Award for the year 2021.

Mr. Devendra Kumar Sharma being conferred with Lifetime Achievement Award for 2021

Mr. Devendra Kumar Sharma was conferred with Lifetime Achievement Award for 2021. He was for his contribution in building hydro projects in India and Bhutan. DK Sharma is also a Member of National Security Advisory Board, Govt. of India; and Vice President of the International Commission on Large Dams, Paris.

Director (Civil) SJVN, Mr SP Bansal

Director (Civil) SJVN, Mr SP Bansal was conferred with the Outstanding Concrete Technologist Award.

Director (Electrical) SJVN, Sushil Kumar Sharma was awarded for Excellence in Individual Contributions.

Rampur 412 MW project head Chief General Manager Manoj Kumar

Chief General Manager Manoj Kumar, who is head of 412 MW Rampur hydropower plant was awarded for Best Serviceable Infrastructure Project.

Luhri, Jangi-Thopan project head Chief General Manager Roshan Lal Negi

Chief General Manager Roshan Lal Negi, who is head of under construction Luhri & Jangi Thopan Powari hydroelectric project was awarded Concrete Technologist Award.

Delhi-based architect Uday Bhat was awarded for Architectural Design and Er. Deepak Thakur (Structural Engineer) for Structural Design.

For excellence in technical education Prof (Dr.) S.P. Guleria, Director cum Principal, Jawaharlal Nehru Government Engineering College, Sundernagar, was awarded.

In all 68 ICI Excellence Ashiana Awards, 2021 were handed out at the function for contribution as Architects, Engineers, Contractors and House Owners.

The Indian Concrete Institute, Shimla Centre, representing Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir had instituted these Awards in 2020 to honor the outstanding projects and the people behind their success, Jaswal told.

Speaking about the awards Architect VPS Jaswal, Chairman, ICI, Shimla-Centre said Indian Concrete Institute is one of the leading professional bodies in India, catering to the professional needs of individuals and organizations involved in Concrete.

Being a non-profit organization, it is dedicated to the cause of Disseminating Knowledge on Concrete, to Promote Concrete Technology and Construction and addressing the Research Needs of Concrete. The Genesis of ICI dates back to the year 1982, when SERC Chennai and Anna University jointly conducted an International Seminar on Modern Concrete Construction Practices, said Jaswal.

Mr. Vaibhav Gupta, Regional Manager, UltraTech, sponsor of the event congratulated all the award winners.
