Kullu: An elderly tourist lost her life as the white water raft she was in capsized during a guided fun ride in Beas river on Thursday.
Incident took place on Thursday afternoon, when 5 tourists from Delhi and Pune boarded the raft at Babeli – 8 Km ahead from Kullu to Manali on NH 21.
Babeli is a very famous place for rafting in Kullu.
But after some times raft lost it’s balance in river and capsized suddenly leaving one female tourist dead.
District Police chief, Shalini Agnihotri confirmed the death of the tourist. at the place named Seubag.
Guides with raft suddenly took out all drowning tourists out of river but one tourist named Razia (62) from Pune Maharashtra had to lose her life. Remaining 4 tourists are being treated in regional hospital Kull
It’s noteworthy that rafting always remains one of the favourite adventure sports for all tourists come to visit Kullu Manali.
Though many advisory and guidelines for safe activities from the administration are issued to all people connected with adventure sports including rafting.
Even these people remain alert to avoid any mishap but regular incidents of such cases claiming fun loving tourists’ life not seem to be stopped.
