Shines: Central Public Sector undertaking SJVN, a power generation company was conferred a gold medal by Institute of Economic Studies at a function held in Kulalumpur, Malaysia recently.
Speaking at the function RN Misra, CMD of SJVN said that Hydro Power generation being core strength of the company; the engineers of SJVN had been successful in achieving the records with efficient machine and water management at its two operating power plants in Himachal Pradesh with an installed capacity of 1912 MW. Taking advantage of the lean season, he told, the project engineers had already completed the annual maintenance of the machines in a record time. The machines of the two power plants are ready to perform at their full efficiency during the upcoming summer season.
Misha, who was handed International Icon Award added that on account of its excellent financial performance the company had declared the highest ever interim dividend of Rs.930.74 crore @ Rs.2. 25 per share. Government of India having 64.46 % equity holding in the company was paid Rs. 599.99 crore while the Government of Himachal Pradesh holding 25.51 % equity was paid Rs.237.38 crore he told. General public holding 10.03 % of the equity had been paid Rs.93.37crores.
He informed that SJVN had now successfully ventured into the field of Solar Power Generation with the commissioning of 5 MW Charanka Solar Power Project in the state of Gujurat during financial year 2016-17.
