Thiruvananthapuram, June 4 (IANS) Kerala Chief Minister Tuesday urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to sort out the woes of Keralites and other Indians in Kuwait following changes in labour laws.
“A minimum of three months be given to our citizens who do not have
proper documents in Kuwait to get them rectified,” the chief minister said in a letter to the prime minister.
“Also, there should be no ban on those who leave Kuwait if they seek jobs in other Middle East countries,” he said.
Chandy wrote the letter after reports surfaced that labour laws were
being tightened and a dozen Keralites were deported last week from Kuwait
and put on a flight to Delhi.
