Mumbai, June 2 (IANS) The Media Foundation of India (MFI) and Yes Bank have announced the Third National Press Photo Contest for professional press photographers, an official statement said here Sunday.
Photographs shot between Jan 1 and Dec 31, 2012, will be eligible for the contest, which carries a prize of Rs.75,000 for the best picture.
Three other cash prizes of Rs.50,000, Rs.30,000 and Rs.20,000 are up for grabs in six categories, including general news, spot news, daily life, sports, art and culture and best photo stories, the MFI said.
Entries can be submitted via e-mail or CDs containing high resolution images by photojournalists employed with news organisations aas well as by freelancers.
A jury comprising internationally renowned photographers Pablo Bartholomew, Kevin Frayer and Daniel Berehulak shall judge the competition.

Last year, over 200 photographers submitted over 6,500 pictures for the contest organised by MFI, a non-profit trust based in Mumbai.
