Bangalore, June 17 (IANS) Britain’s deputy high commission in Chennai will issue visas on the day of application from Tuesday to Indians in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu,, an official said Monday.
“The new visa service will facilitate urgent travel to Britain and compliments our fast track service with online payment options,” UK Visas and Immigration regional director Thomas Greig said in a statement here.
The service under super priority category is available to those applying for a six-month to two-year multiple entry visit visa.
“It is also available to visa applicants sponsored by companies who are members of our business express programme,” Grieg said.
The service was introduced in New Delhi and Mumbai after its announcement during the recent visit of British Prime Minister David Cameron to India.
As an optional service, the fee will be GBP 600 (Rs.57,000) plus the standard fee for the type of visa applied for.
“Applicants must complete on online form and submit it before 9:30am at the visa application centre in Chennai for securing the visa by 5.30 p.m. the same day,” Grieg added.
