Bangalore, May 8 (IANS) The Samajwadi Party (SP) Wednesday opened its account in Karnataka with its candidate C.P. Yogeshwara winning from Channapatna, about 60 km from here.
The SP candidate, who got his party the first seat in the southern state, defeated Janata Dal-S’ Anita Kumaraswamy, wife of the party’s state president and former chief minister H.D. Kumaraswamy.
