Ankara, May 6 (IANS) Turkish football club Galatasaray clinched their 19th Super League title beating Sivasspor 4-2 Sunday. The defending champions thus sealed their championship two weeks before the 2012-2013 season ends.
Galatasaray thrashed the Anatolian side, as Selcuk Inan opened scoring with a perfect free-kick just eight minutes after the whistle, reports Xinhua.
Inan inspired the team along with in-form striker Burak Yilmaz, who was the top scorer of the team in the Champions League with eight goals.
Both Inan and Burak scored twice to reach a clear 10-point lead with two games to go before the end of the season.
Turkish President Abdullah sent a telegram to congratulate Galatasaray’s historical victory in the Super League.
