New Delhi, May 11 (IANS) The Congress Saturday sought to take a high moral ground over the resignation of ministers P.K. Bansal and Ashwani Kumar, saying they quit though the charges against them have not been proved in a court of law.
Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had never shown such character.
The two ministers resigned Friday after the Congress leadership asked them to go following allegations of corruption and impropriety.
Bansal is under a cloud after his nephew was arrested for accepting a bribe for promising a Railway Board post to an official. Kumar is accused of interfering in the investigation into the coal blocks allocation.
