Shimla: Though it is the second week of April but winter conditions continue to prevail here as a hailstorm lashed the city in the afternoon.
Apple orchard owners are a worried lot for severe hail damage can cause crop and income losses for the entire year. The orchard trees are in a delicate stage where the flower bloom is on and fruit set is to take place depending upon the bloom and weather conditions.
Reshma Kashyap, whose parents own an apple orchard said, the prevailing cold weather will cause immense harm to the apple trees in full bloom.
