Ankara (Turkey), April 12 (IANS) Galatasaray coach Fatih Terim was given a nine-match ban over “unsportsmanlike conduct” during the match against Turkish Super League’s Mersin Idmanyurdu last Saturday.
Terim was sent off the pitch in the second half during Galatasaray-Mersin Idmanyurdu match for reacting to the referee over his controversial decisions. Terim threw the ball to the ground to express his anger, Xinhua reports.
The disciplinary council of the Turkish Football Federation banned Terim from participating in nine Galatasaray matches. The disciplinary council also banned Terim’s assistant coach.
With this ban, Terim will not be available in his team’s remaining matches during the rest of the season.
