It is time for the Dalai Lama to return to Tibet, says exiled Tibetan PM

Tibetan PM Lobsang SangayaDharamshala: “Tibetans in Tibet are doing all they can and by giving up their lives with the hope and belief that exiled Tibetans and friends will stand up with them .Even if they get tortured, even if they die, their lives will not go in vain because their friends will stand up for them”, said the Tibetan PM in exile.

Today, he inaugurated the Second Special International Tibet Support Groups Meeting at the TCV School hall  in Dharamshala.

The Tibetan PM said that countries around the world are getting freedom and it is now the time for Tibet. He also said“, It is the time for the Dalai Lama to return to Tibet.”

This meet was organized to explore ways to press the Chinese government to end its repressive policies in Tibet. Around two hundred members of Tibetan Support Groups from 43 countries attended the meeting.

Tibetan Prime Minister called the accusations made by the Chinese government absolutely baseless, as they (Chinese Govt) labeled Tibetan self-immolators as terrorists and blamed the Dalai Lama and Tibetans in exile for instigating the protests.

The exiled PM also said that of the 74 self-immolators, not even one of them harmed a single Chinese person or any Chinese property. How this can be a terrorist act, he asked.

He said that Tibetans are harming themselves but even at that painful phase when one is burning, they are not running towards Chinese people. They are dying a painful death for themselves.

The three-day meeting is being convened by the Core Group for Tibetan Cause-India and facilitated by the Department of Information and International Relations of the Central Tibetan Administration.

Delegates at the meeting are scheduled to have an audience with Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama on Saturday, a Tibetan official confirmed.

I think this so called civilized world is only civilized with external factors, I mean on material values, which is why this world is blind after short term economic benefits, rather than cherishing moral ethics and moral values which lies in warm warmheartedness and honesty. 76 Tibetans set themselves on fire, a challenge to the conscience of the world. These selfless, courageous brave Tibetans are voicing for freedom and justice in Tibet and return of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Tibet. China ignores and plays the blame game, and world at large is remaining silent about it. The fact here is that protesting by self immolating one self is the strongest non violent protest, in which one has to go through severe pain to die for the cause of freedom and justice, if given a choice, who will choose to die a painful death than living a peaceful and happy life. The strongest act of self immolation in Tibet reveals how depressive and cruel the Chinese regime is on Tibetans, one can clearly understand it by looking at the tortures of Falunggong practitioners, who were their own Han Chinese kins. Looking at these real facts, bloody regime is China is creating hell like situation in Tibet, so the Tibetans choose this urgent measures of drastic actions to raise their voice for freedom and justice in Tibet. I am just wondering when this world will truly understand the sufferings in Tibet and in China as well, when will this world have an empathy and stand up for Tibet and humanity at large?
