Shimla : Five people were killed Thursday and three injured when an avalanche hit a Gujjar village in the remote Tissa region of Chamba district in Himachal Pradesh.
The bodies have not yet been recovered in the deep snow .
After the recent heavy snowfall authorities have alerted people in this high altitude tribal region against avalanche threats and urged them not to venture out.
Many parts of Himachal have this month received the heaviest snowfall in many years and the region remains in the grip of a severe cold spell .
