Shimla: Not one to be cowed down, an aggressive opposition staged a walkout in the evening session today as they were irked by a ruling from the chair to expunge an allegation leveled against a minister by Rakesh Kalia, a congress MLA from Chintpurni in Una district.

Participating in the motion of thanks debate to the Governor’s address, Kalia raised an issue about a violent incident about a land sale deal said to be bought by one Mahant Surya Nath in Una district.

The land he alleged was bought under a benami deal and led to a confrontation. The legislator said that sections evoked by the police in the case were changed under pressure from the government and a
minister.

The treasury benches took offense to naming of a minister. Parliamentary minister Ravinder Singh Ravi appealed to the opposition and the lawmaker to withdraw the unsubstantiated charge which Kalia
refused to relent.

Senior congress member Kaul Singh said that there was no derogatory or unparliamentarily language used by the congress legislator and his allegation needed to remain on record.

With heated exchanges refusing to settle the issue first deputy speaker Rikhi Ram Kaundal and later speaker Tulsi Ram in the chair, the speaker later ruled for expunging of the allegations.

Perturbed at the ruling, congress members jumped to their seats and starting shouting slogans against a police state and walkout of the house.

    Good pic Lalit 🙂

    Dharmani’s laugh is funny 🙂

Manglate also learned to do naare baaji!

Rest of the clan looks like jokers. They need to understand by just raising slogans nothing is going to change. A mass public movement is required and Congress is in deep trouble at center and same is true for both parties in HP. They need to clearly understand they are under major debt and trouble is mounting every day. I wish to see a plan from either side of party for bringing HP out of debt.
