60 escape unhurt as bus misshap averted in Himachal

Solan: As many as 60 people escaped unhurt when a Shimla-Haridawar bound HRTC bus partly skidded off the road near Barog in this district this morning which was filled beyond its capacity by pilgrims going to attend Makarsakranti “Shanan” (Holy bath) in the Ganga river.

Police sources said that Nahan Depot HRTC bus on the way to Haridawar from Shimla skidded off the road at 0930 hrs this morning but all the passengers were evacuated from the vehicle before it could have caused any loss when bus have got tangled halfway in the air near Barog.

No one was injured in the mishap and all the rescued were taken to their destination in another bus called to carry them, sources added. The bus was full beyond the capacity as number of people were going to attend Makarsankranti Holy Bath at Haridawar, the main pilgrimage centre of Hindus.

    Majority of Road accidents in Himachal and India are due to Bad roads. And i Guess 90% incidents and accidents goes without reporting.
