Himachal CM underlines the need for bringing out a consolidated and complete newspaper

Shimla: Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister underlined the need for bringing out a consolidated and complete newspaper to cater to the requirements of the readers. He was addressing the first Trivani function organized by first News Media Group in association with Government of Himachal Pradesh and Haryana at Gaiety Theater at Shimla today.

Chief Minister said that it was unfortunate that most of the newspapers had turned regional and news dissemination also varied from place to place. He said that it was difficult to get consolidated news of the entire region or State from the newspaper which had created a void in the information required by the readers. He said that newspapers needed to build their credibility by presenting factual news and views to meet their requirements.

Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal expressed concern over paid news during elections which lowered the credibility of media in the eyes of awakened citizens. He said the such types of news reporting were misleading and not in the true spirit of free and impartial journalism. He said that healthy criticism was always welcomed since it helps in correcting the mistakes so that effective governance could be provided to the public in general.

Chief Minister honored Smt. Manisha Nanda, Nagin Nanda, Ram Subhag Singh, Jai Sen Chauhan, Rajender Thakur, Dr. Sulakshana Puri, Dr. Jai Shri Sharma, B.D. Sharma, senior bureaucrats of the State for their meritorious services they had rendered in their respective fields.

Shri Surender Singh Hooda, CEO and Editor, Pahali Khabar welcomed the Chief Minister and detailed the progress of the newspaper made since its inception. He said that newspaper was based on positive journalism.

    mess in shimla when VIP cross cart road esp the CM the police seems sooooooooo nervous at that time that makes me think how can they handle the peoples grievances when they cannot even manage the one km stretch
