Shimla:Three persons were killed, including a woman, and 37 others injured in the wee hours of Tuesday when a Himachal roadways bus they were travelling in, lost control and fell into a ditch (nallah), near Jabli in Solan district.
Two persons died on the spot, where the woman though was rescued from the accident spot but died on the way to PGI hospital in Chandigarh, said a police spokesman from Parwanoo station. Of the 37 injured, six of them have received grievous injuries, he added.
Initially though all the injured were given treatment at Parwanoo hospital but about 12 of them have been referred to the premier institute in Chandigarh, said the spokesman.
The bus was on a night journey from Delhi to Malokar, when the driver is believed to have lost control at about 4.30 a.m. as the bus was crossing Jabli and rolled down about 300 feet before coming to a halt.
One of the dead has been identified as Khem Chand (45) of Kunihar village in Solan district where as the other two dead were still unidentified, police said.
