Shimla: Threatened with expulsion, Shika Chauhan, president SCA Himachal Pradesh University said that the students body was being forced to take its agitation beyond the campus and onto the public arena for the university authorities are bent upon gagging them.

With the university bent upon vitiating the campus environment and not heeding to the student’s demands, we intend to intensify our agitation, said Chauhan.

We will not withdraw till the university revokes the expulsion of two student’s, withdraws the conduct probation imposed on 4 other student’s, which includes me, and drops the false cases lodged with the police, she added.

The SCA president said that despite a 40 day chain hunger strike, university authorities had not bothered to hold talks with them. On the pretext of inviting them for talks, false cases were lodged against some students, who were later arrested, she said.

The university also resorted to expelling two students, who were earlier placed under conduct probation, said Shika.

She said till the just demands of the student’s community is not met the agitation would continue and would be extended to include colleges and the general public.
