Dhumal Invites Tatas To Himachal

Shimla: With Ratan Tata threatening to quit Singur following continued unrest at the Nano factory, chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal has invited the group to make investments in state and avail tax benefits under the special incentives provided.

Citing availability of uninterrupted power, skilled and managerial human resource and a peaceful environment as conducive for a healthy industrial environment, Dhumal said that the state would stand to benefit from the expertise of a reputed group like Tata’s.

The chief minister said that the group in Himachal would not have to face the kind of situation it was facing in West Bengal.

We would welcome investments from the Tata Group of Companies in the State and all facilities would be provided by the state government,” said Dhumal.

Good to see that Govt is taking some initiatives to attract big businesses in the state. However, mere statements in the press will not do the job. The Govt officers should come up with proposal citing the details of the offers to the Tata goup and approach him personally. Like what type of land, electrical power, and transport connectivity. The plant would generate lots of revenue for himachal as well as many other benefits because TATA group is known to be the only honest business group in this country.
