HIMURJA to formulate solar and wind energy policy

HIMURJA would consider the formulation of new Solar and Wind Energy Policy to harness the solar and wind potential available at identified places in the state in order to add to the energy generation potential of the state. The state would also be convening a ‘Conference on Hydro Power Policy’ during the month of September to provide a platform to the IPPs, members of the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Confederation of Indian Industry, get their doubts cleared.

P.K.Dhumal, the Chief Minister said that said like solar energy need has surfaced to identify the wind potential which could be converted into non-conventional energy. He pointed out that power was being made available to the Bara Bhangal’s 446 consumers through the mini project and generator sets which happened to be the inaccessible area of the state at the moment. He added that two more projects worth 1.3MW at Sach and Billing in the tribal areas of Pangi and Lahaul were likely to be commissioned in the neat future and add an income of 1.10 crores to the state while MOUs had been signed for execution of such 259 projects worth 829.35MW with various entrepreneurs who were being requested to expedite the completion of the same in a targeted form.
