P. K Dhumal, the Chief Minister announced that the state government would consider hydel projects up to 25 MW under the small hydro electric project category, where norms applicable for projects up to 5 MW would be observed besides other related aspects.
Addressing the Conference on ‘Himachal Pradesh: The Clean Energy Hub’ organized by PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry in district Solan today. The state government has decided to allot hydel projects up to 2 MW exclusively to Himachal entrepreneurs and local entrepreneurs would be given preference for allotment of projects up to 5 MW while100 MW were being allotted through competitive bidding route and advertised globally to attract best returns for the State. Talking over the problems of Bhakra Dam, Pong Dam, he said that the state needed to be given 12% free power from all BBMB projects and state share in Punjab Reorganization Act.
Chief Minister said that the state government would ensure cleanliness besides speedy execution of the hydroelectric projects.
